1. Who is a
strategist? Describe the main types of jobs that have a strong strategy
element.
Strategist
is that person who has the responsibility of an organizational welfare and he
is the one who does planning, innovative idea, judgment and final decision in
an organization. Strategist can be categorized under two areas like Internal
and external.

strategist is:

External
Strategist is:

Above
strategist has only right to advice the senior committee member of an
organization. They are hiring and paid for the job. The right to make decision
may depend on authority given.

What’s the difference between a strategic planner and a strategy consultant?
(Use your own words or referenced quotes)
Strategic Planner are those person who
are responsible for making the strategic for the organization. The can be CEO,
Executive director, Manager and middle managers.
Where as Strategic Consultant are the
external strategist who are hired by the organization and paid for their work.
They can only make plans and identify the problem and solution to a problem
they do not have the right to make change unless authority provide by the
organization as per the contract basis.

Responsibilities
·
Develop
and present seasonal/weekly merchandise financial plans in accordance with
company goals, historical performance and market trend analysis
·
Work
closely with merchandising to identify sales opportunities through effective
strategic planning
·
Develop
and provide appropriate business analysis to influence future purchases and
assortment strategies
·
Forecast
sales, margin and inventory at a department/class level in our planning system
based on changes in trend, strategy, receipts or business climate
·
Manage
seasonal inventory and make recommendations in regards to markdowns or
promotions
·
Plan
basic and fashion styles to ensure the flow of receipts supports the current
and future business
·
Participate
as an integral partner with brand senses, merchandising, and allocation
(Inventory Management) to create seasonal/weekly floor set plans.
Qualifications

2+
years merchandising, planning, buying or equivalent experience preferred

Bachelor
degree required, 3.0 Minimum GPA and Business degree preferred
